Give to a stranger!

December 4, 2008

One of the greatest blessings is to give something to someone that if totally not expecting it.  A stranger.  My experiences in a Wendy’s the other night did not cost me anything but was a blessing to a lady and she blessed me by her thanks to me.  All I did was to offer to finish paying for her ice cream that she ordered but did not have enough money to pay for it.  I offered her the money she needed.  However, she decided to buy a smaller ice cream that she would have enough money to pay for.  So it did not cost me anything for all the praise I received from her.  I was perfectly ready and willing to pay her bill even though I had never seen here in my life.  She simply just could not believe that me, a stranger, would do that for her.

So!  You try blessing someone every now and then but now especially around Christmas.  You will be supprised how good it will make you feel plus you will bless someone else.  It doesn’t have to be a lot of money but just a sincere jesture on your part to share.

Turkey day 2008

November 24, 2008

Heres hoping you have a fantastic Thanksgiving with your family.  My wife and I will be traveling to West Florida to see her 80 year old mom.  She is a real kicker.  At 80 years old she will work circles around most people half her age.  It was awsome to watch here when she came to help take care of Barbara after her fall and broken leg.  She got up in the mornings and did not quit until bed time at night.  She is an awsome lady.  We love her dearly.

I hope that you will be with your family and will give thanks to God for a boundful year that he has blessed us with.  Even though we have all been through some tough times in the last year, God has been so good to us by bringing us through with great victory.  So have a fantastic Thanksgiving with your family and remember to pray and be thankful for God’s blessings.

What do we do in the post election era.

November 22, 2008

It is now time for the church to make sure to pray desperately for our nation and it’s leaders.  Through out the Bible God’s people were punished when they were disobedient to Him.  I think that we will be in one of those times of punishment unless we do like the saints of old and really pray for God’s divine intervention.

We are in for the possibilities for actives federal judges to be appoint that will rule and make law from the bench to fit the ultra liberal positions of groups that now feel empowered to get their immoral agenda passed on to us.  However, there is nothing that the power of prayer cannot conquer.  So let us sanctify ours selves and begin to desperately pray for our new leaders as they come to office.

We as a church will survive!  God’s people always do and we will this time too.  So listen up to the cry for afirming leadership when I call you to prayer as never before.  God bless all of you…..you are loved.

New Things

November 5, 2008

Today is a celebration of new things.  The election of the first black American in history as president of the United States of America.

It will amaze you how quickly new things become old.  It will become everyday stuff that we pay very little attention to.  We will pray for our new president that God will grip his heart and use him in a might way.  Thank God He is in control.  It is not for us to wonder why but to wonder when; when will Jesus come?  Could it be today?  I certainly am looking for Him today for He said, “unto them who look for Him shall He appear the second time with out sin to gather us home to be with Him.”

After the Fast

October 23, 2008

We’ve been fasting the last few weeks on Tuesday…Praying for our Church and our World.

There are two words that has come to my mind…Fresh & Hungry.

I’m praying that God would breath a Freshness into my life, family and ministry, and that i would be Hungry for Him.  it is so easy to fill up on spiritual junk food and NOT be hungry for the meal.  Every time I experience a hunger pain during the fast, I’m asking God to make me hungry for Him.  I want to look as forward to my time with Him as much as I do the first meal after breaking a fast.

A fresh breath from God and a Hunger for his presence…

When I’m hungry for God my joy is greter than my circumstances…My desire to follow Him is greter than the fear of where it might lead…My passion for His will burns hotter than my desire to be comfortable.

Breath Deep…God is so Good!

October is an exciting month

October 13, 2008

Thanks to all the volunteers who are helping Alecia Hutto get our Harvest Festival together.  It will take place October 31 from 6pm to 9pm.  Everyone is welcome and everything is free.  I look forward to meeting all the new people who have moved into our community.  Come and bring your kids to as safe place to have fun, games and food.  They will have a great time.

For those of you who are interested, my wife, Barbara, is healing fine from a broken leg.  Thanks for all your prayers and help.  It is a long recovery time.  She is beginning to feel closed in because she can’t get out and go as she is us to doing.  A BIG THANK YOU TO MARLENE WOOD AND DEBRA WILLIAMS for taking her places as well as coming to the house to visit her and talking to her.  They have taken the responsibility of getting Barbara to church since my job requires me to be there much earlier than she wants to go.  What a great church family we have.  We love you all!!  Thanks for all you do for us.

What a Day!

October 6, 2008

Yesterday was a great day at Garden Cathedral.  Many visitors and some who had visited in the past came back.  That is exciting.

We are at the breakout point to really grow a good size church.  Why don’t you come and check us out.  You will like us too.

In the morning service there was a really sweet move of the Holy Spirit as our Minister of Music, Victor Riffle, lead us in worship.  I thought I did a pretty good job bring the message that God had given me.  Then Sunday night I preached a sermon on prophecy of the end time.  I hope it got into the spirit of the people and made them realize that Jesus could really come at any minute.  Oh! how I am so looking for His quick return.

Thanks to all the people who attend and support Garden Cathedral.  You are a great group of people who love the Lord.

They say we are a loving church.

October 4, 2008

I wish everyone of you who read this blog entry would at least attend one service at Garden Cathedral and experience the warm and friendleness of our people.  You will find a group of people who really care about you and your station in life without a judgemental attitude.

Our motto is “that we are a church that loves God and love to share that love.”  Each week we have new people come and experience this love that you don’t find in all churches.  Come as you are.  It will be okay.  We are a relaxed and confortable church where you can find the peace of God to bless your life.

As the Senior Pastor I assure you that everything possible will be done to make you feel welcome.  So!  Why not give us a try.  We have programs and class for all ages from infants to adults.  You will like what you find at Garden Cathedral.

If there has ever been a time for people to come together and worship God in these troubles times it is now.

Come on!  Make the plunge.  You will be glad you did.

The Sheperds did a fantastic job last Sunday singing and preaching.  We so enjoyed their ministry.

If you have not had this group you should book them.  They are talented and anointed to minister the word.

I hope you have a great day today as God pours out His grace without measure for every person.

See you in church Sunday!

April 4, 2009

The ladies of the church had a yard sale this past weekend.  Boy did they work hard for the money they made.  We are so proud of them!  I know God is going to bless all of those who worked so hard.  Thank you Jesus for such dedicated women in this church.  Thank you ladies for all your hard work.

Missions Weekend Fantastic

March 25, 2009

This past weekend we had our missionaries, Robert and Jeanette Cary, as our guest speakers.  What a great preacher he is.  He blessed us in both services.  Thank you to all of those of you who gave to the mission project of helping buy property for a church in the Carribean.  I know that you will be blessed of God for your faithfulness in supporting this project.  The amount of the offering was $1300.00 and something dollars.  That means there will only be $2,000.00 left to pay for the land completely.  I know it will come in before long.  What a blessing to be able to help these people have land to build their own church.  Thank you again for your giving.

God is Good and Moving in Garden Cathedral

March 24, 2009

We were very happy to receive into membership last week Lynn &Susan Beaney and Debra and Jay Stewart.  More to come.  God is still moving in Garden Cathedral.

Don’t listen to the nay sayers because they are on the out side of what thing are happening.  Just think how wonderfully God uses our minister of music, Victor Riffle.  In every service he leads us straight to the thrown of God with the worship music he directs.  Thank you Victor for your life and obedience to God and His voice.

I urge all of you to begin reading the entire New Testament (from Matthew through Revelations) by easter.  God is going to bless you for that great effort and dedication to his word.  I look forward to hearing for you on the answers to prayer as you read and pray the New Testement.

Great Things Are Happening At Garden Cathedral

February 27, 2009

The “Pastors Huddle” will meet tonight to complete the calander for March 2009.  I have scheduled a revival for July 24 with a young man by the name of Robert Martin.  I believe he will be a great blessing to our church.  Begin now praying for this revival and specially for our youth.  Robert is a young man and I believe he will connect with our youth.  So pray hard for them.

Thanks to all of you who participated in the Daniel Fast.  A 21 day fast that I know was a blessing to our church.  Let me encourage you to fast at least one day per week for our church.  If you can’t fast a whole day do at least a couple of meals.  Our church is in desperate need of a revival spiritually and fininacially.  So let us all do our part and expect God to do His best for us as well.  I know that He will bless if we will do our part.  God bless all of you.  You are deeply loved.

21 day Fast Ends today.

February 23, 2009

Garden Cathedral has expreienced a great time of pray and fasting together in the “21 day Daniel’s Fast.”  God has been so good.  Needs have been met in families.  Healings have taken place and God has showed up in our services each week.  Praise God!  from whom all blessings flow.

If you did not get in on this fast we will be doing it again next year in January.  So begin to prepare now.  However, you don’t have to wait until January 2010 you can start your own fast any time.  I try to fast a minimum of one day per week.  God bless that effort and He will bless your effort also.
